The Jefferson National
Memorial Museum at St. Louis is a wonderful experience. some of us went up
in the arch, others saw the Imax movie "Great Journey West", from National
Geographics. While Lewis and Clark are prominent here, the museum is
called "The Museum of Westward Expansion", and the whole story is told,
from L&C, through the Fur Trade, Oregon Trail, Setlement. The building is
filled with wonderful images and three-dimensional figures of all kinds.
Here's one of our group posing with the prominent grizzly bear
|This is a great
bas-relief mural depicting all the various people and trades involved in
building this unique Monument to the dream.
Below is our Instructor,
Tom Laidlaw, and next to him is the Basilica of Saint Louis the King, on
the grounds of the Memorial. It was the first church in St. Louis. This is
about the fourth generation.
