The
last day of our adventure began at Fort Clatsop, the winter quarters for
the Corps of Volunteers for NorthWestern Discovery. As we did at Fort
Mandan, and the Capitol at Helena, we raised our flag on the flagpole.

Our final nite was a
medley of laughs, tears, goodbyes, corny gags and moving talks and
presentations. Carroll Broome was invited to go on this trip by his older
brother Charlie, so Carroll presented him with a large Jefferson peace
medal.

This group presented a
skit entitled Sacre Bleu, about an incident at the Nez Perce village near
Orofino, ID, where Lewis and Clark built dugout canoes for their first
downstream route since leaving Camp Wood, IL.
To find out what the skit is about look up Oct. 5 in the Lewis and
Clark Journals.
You can get it here. |
