On "the barge" at Lewis and Clark State Park, Onawa, IA

Only one expedition member died. Next to his monument is a forensic model of Sgt. Charles Floyd

Sitting in the shade is a good idea on a hot day.****Each day a horn blower alerts us that it is time to leave an exhibit. This is the same way Lewis and Clark called for their hunting shore parties.

Two flags, both with 15 stars and 15 stripes

At lunch Tom, Robert, and Shannon gave a little skit about Clark's reaction to his commission as a 2nd Lt., when he was promised Captain. He agreed with Lewis to do the job anyway without letting the men know his subordinate rank.

Shannon took this photo of a great route map in the Sioux City Interpretive Center. We will visit most of the places.

One of our Road Scholars received this photo from a friend in Ohio. We are getting into the country where George Shannon got ahead of the boats but thought he ws behind.
